I think squash is the best cca that i could ever have took up besides guzheng. In fact, ccas are what i look forward to the most in school! I nv regretted coming to this cca, becos if not, i'd have nv known you guys.
Today is the first ever tournament i took part in. Amerpro squash at singapore poly. But it's my first defeat too! I really must commend the SP girls that their their drives are really strong and steady. Firm and hard. I was actually so scared when i see my first opponent doing her warm-up, cos the warm-up shows how gd your opponents are. When i saw her swinging continuously so hard for her back-hand as well, i was intimidated. But - the thing is, i tried not to show it on my face. Deep inside my heart, i was actually in awe at her strong blows and all that, and was already expecting defeat. But my conscience tells me that, if i just give up like that without even trying, then i'm really a loser. A loser at heart.
Yeaps, and so i did. It was a fight between us when the both of us stretched to take our shots. The first set ended 11-10 of which i won by a margin. Really tough fight.
The 2nd and 3rd set my opponent won. It was near too with me around 8 or 9 or smth lidat. It was a very gd game played. She told me to add her in frenster but i gave her my number instead. Hope to do more friendlys with SP ppl in the future.
And so i lost. I went to play in the losers' plate(it doesn't sound nice right), and guess what?
My opponent is another SP player AGAIN.
Whao, what a blow. I'm already mentally prepared to see her drives and all that.
Yeap the same thing happened. I guess SP really trains their drives super well.
Yeap so you can expect alot of back court movement when you play with them. So whenever they hit it to the back, i just flick it to the front and drop it.
It's rather effective and you may think that i have won this round. But - again, i didn't!
I kind of screwed up today. I didn't manage to do a nice volley and even if i did, it was just a tyco shot. I won becos of service. Or becos maybe they weren't that gd with receiving.
But either way la.
And i screwed up a couple of my serves today. When normally i had accuracy with it. I usually stared at the blank wall and aims it carefully where i want it to be. Oh man. My service cocked up at this crucial time.
HAi.
And so that's how i end up with 2 defeats in a single day. Which was quite hard to accept it becos i felt shameful. But i guess everybody had their own defeats too. It's when we can learn from it.
It's when u suddenly feel hot on both your cheeks, that's when you felt shame.
It's a burning sensation. Cos now i'm a double loser!
But still, we all learn from this. Anyway, even though i lost, i still think i did my best in my games. And with my 2 opponents, i think its a game well played!
With not-bad rallies la.
HAha. Squash rocks. Tab u did well too! This goes the same for Sing wei, Zhi rong and Charmaine.
*pat pat* thx for your consoling today tab. We same boat now. haha
P.S. Joyce Lim Jiayi come back now! Cos we miss you terribly. I miss you terribly too. Squash isn't the same without you. :(
P.P.S.S. Anyway, your opponent walked over today cos u didn't come! But i think your opponent oso think come too! hAHA
